What does ‘limitless automation’ mean for you?
It means we provide solutions that others feel are impossible.

Imagine you meet someone in a bar or café, you get chatting, it turns out they’re looking for some packaging automation, and they ask:

Why should I use Mpac instead of one of the standard big companies?
Because when you work with Mpac, you get a company that is large enough to your complex needs but small enough that you can develop personal relationships and interactions that ensure we’re focused on your requirements.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Working with customers on a daily basis to exceed their needs – our success is directly tied to our customer’s success. And I love the diversity of my job, I work with customers across a broad spectrum of different manufacturing environments.

How would you describe Mpac’s approach to packaging automation in 1 word?
Innovative.

Electrical Engineer

How would you describe Mpac’s approach to packaging automation in 1 word?
Evolution.

What do clients say they like about working with Mpac?
Customers like our commitment to them, the extra-ordinary support we provide to them in after market, and the way we think with them as partners and not a mere customer-supplier approach.

In what ways do Mpac think unconventionally?
Our dynamic innovation team makes it possible to develop new ideas to meet customers’ criteria. For example, we have a stick pack solution which works to a speed of 620 stick per minute. A new customer requested a speed of 900 sticks per minute. Thanks to the all the team involved the machine was developed to meet their challenge!

In terms of your job, what gets you out of bed in the morning?

The motivation of my job is our highspeed machines, which carry out tasks in blink of eye. This is where my role is vital to ensuring they maintain productivity.

What emerging trends in automation are you excited about? How do you think it will change in the next few years?

Machine learning is an interesting concept which is emerging in the automation world. This will reduce the task load of customers in terms of machine maintenance and operations, by storing/analysing the data of machine and communicating it to the customers network.

What does ‘limitless automation’ mean for you?
Limitless automation means not backing down from a challenge, and being able to provide creative solutions that have never been done before.

In what ways do Mpac think unconventionally?
Mpac thinks unconventionally through our custom designed machines. Each project comes with its own unique product and requirements, and Mpac looks forward to the challenge of creating new ways to implement these requirements into our standard machines.

What emerging trends in automation are you excited about?
I’m excited to see what comes next! I think packaging machines will have the ability to handle more complicated products with increased speeds. And I think the industry will be incorporating many different types of robots, with unique end of arm tooling for packaging. I’m looking forward to seeing where that will take us in the future.

Anything else you’d like to add?
Mpac is where I started my engineering career and I wouldn’t have it any other way! Through my kind and helpful colleagues, the endless new opportunities and experiences, and the ability to grow and learn, not only as a designer but also as a person, I am, and will be forever grateful.

How would you describe Mpac’s approach to packaging automation in 1 word?
Intelligent.

Mieke Geysen

Technical Documentalist

What does ‘limitless automation’ mean for you?

That we keep on developing and innovating to serve our customers, now and in the future.

In what ways are Mpac empathetic in terms of what clients need?
For me, as a technical writer, I see it mainly in specific lists and forms we make using the customers’ template. Just so they don’t have to rewrite or copy anything and can be as productive as possible, straight away.

What’s one thing you like about the state of packaging automation today?
I like the fact that so many products can be packed automatically these days. You could make a television show about it.(I’d watch!).

What emerging trends in automation are you excited about?
With the use of robots and smart systems, packaging can get a lot more flexible and customizable. I think, in the next few years, one machine can process alot more different products without too much effort.
